Sorry I haven't been around to comment on stuff lately!
I feel really guilty about the 136 deviation alerts in my inbox that have piled up in the past month or so, and I AM trying to get to them all. I don't want anybody to think I'm purposefully ignoring them or anything- I really want to check out all of your art, and read all your journals and everything, and I've been meaning to for ages!
...I blame high school. It's not bad, per se, just very... tiring. With lots of homework that actually affects your mark if you don't get it done. I guess it's going pretty well- I haven't made any enemies (not even among my teachers! I haven't even gotten into any heated debates with any of them. I kind of miss it.), my locker's in a decent spot, my classes are alright, the cafeteria food is overpriced and gross, but I expected that, so it's okay... More on this subject later for anyone interested.
Art-wise, well... I've been kind of changing my style a lot. Like, a lot. And I still have stuff from MARCH that I haven't scanned. One of these days I'll just scan everything, but not yet. (I'm probably going to take down that terrible picture of Cornelia- I HATE it!!) But I'm really working on a greater sense of realism in my pictures, although I've experienced a bit of an upsurge in my Los Peinahklaht interest. Lots of brainstorming going on. I've gotten back my interest in FMA in general, too, which makes me really happy.
I recently read the first volume of this manga called Mu Shi Shi. It's really, really good! It's got beautiful art- not all jagged like a lot of shonen or all frilly like most shojo- just this nice smooth style that really suits the story. It's about a man named Ginko, who is what's called a mushishi (hence the name) who is an expert at getting rid of mushi, which is a very broad term for all these different types of half-spirit-half-parasite-type-creatures. It's not your standart demon-slashing battle manga, though. They're not big monsters, they're mostly little creatures that he cures with different remedies. I say "Cures" because the mushi tend to attach themselves to people, and to the untrained eye a lot of their effects look like strange illnesses...
Anyway, it's a great fantasy story and I recommend you check it out.
You though I could get through a journal without mentioning my hair, didn't you? WELL, YOU WERE WRONG. I got it cut. Into an inverted bob. Again. Because it was getting longer, and one day I very impulsively went downstairs and said, "I want to get a haircut". And within about an hour I had it cut. Wow, impulsive, right?
So there you go, that's what's going on with me, in a nutshell..
I swear I'll get to all you guys's deviations!
